Scotland

Scotland is in the north-west of Europe, between the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea. It is part of Great Britain and of the United Kingdom.
There are about five million inhabitants. A Scottish person is also called a Scot. They are British but we mustn’t call them English. Today everyone speaks English, but at one time, people in the north and west spoke Gaelic. Scotland has about 800 islands.  It isn’t a very hot country.

The first king was Kenneth MacAlpin. He is famous because Shakespeare wrote about him.
There were many battles between England and Scotland.
There was a queen called Mary. She became queen when she was 6 days old.

The most famous cities are Edinburgh, because it is the capital city and is the second city for visitors in Britain after London, and Glasgow, because it is the biggest city in Scotland.
Other cities are Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness and Stirling.

Edinburgh

Regarding sports, golf began in Scotland and football is also very important.

The typical drink is whisky. The word whisky comes from Gaelic and means “the water of life”.

An important Scot was William Wallace. He appears in the film Braveheart.
And the most famous Scot in the world today is Sean Connery.

I'm back after spending a few days in my village.
I arrived  on Saturday afternoon and returned to Madrid on Monday afternoon.
I saw all my friends and we had much fun.
On Sunday we were in the field eating omelette and also did a barbecue.
I'm sad because I like to be there.

I hope to go soon.
